I’ve got a lot of open tabs in my head just now.

Some of it is about what comes next for me.

Some of it is about the last few years.

Some of it is just noticing how things actually work day to day in charities.

One thing I keep coming back to:

Most of the work isn’t the big stuff.

It’s not the strategy day.

It’s not the plan once it’s written.

It’s everything in between.

Trying to make decisions without the full picture.

Working out what actually matters this week.

Keeping things moving when it would be easier to leave it.

I think that’s the bit I’m most interested in now.

And probably the bit I’m best at.

Sitting in that space with people while they figure things out.

I don’t fully know what this next phase looks like yet.

But I know I don’t want to move away from that kind of work.

If anything, I want to get closer to it.

Anyway — that’s where my head is at just now.
